Losing It With Jillian Series Premiere:
The Mastropiestro Family
If you tuned into last night’s series premiere of Losing It With Jillian, the new reality show to follow Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels as she moves in with families across the US, it probably didn’t take you long to realize this is not your typical lighthearted reality show. Michaels not only helps families get healthier physically, she addresses their emotional well-being as well, and sometimes that gets a little challenging. Jillian Michaels opens up about her “very, very emotional” new show and how it’s impacted her own life…
“There’s not enough money in the world to supply you with the amount of Kleenex you’re going to need per episode of Losing It,” Jillian Michaels says. “I have a few breakdowns along the way,” she adds. “It’s very, very emotional.”
The premise of the show is simple: Jillian Michaels moves in with a family for one week, helping them confront their deep-rooted emotional issues while educating them about healthy eating and physical fitness. After six weeks, she returns to check in on her families and see how they’ve progressed since their time on Losing It With Jillian. It turns out that the families aren’t the only ones stepping out of their comfort zones for the show. The experience has been a life-changing one for Jillian Michaels as well.
“This is a very different experience for me,” Michaels says. “I’m out of my element, I’m in people’s homes. I’m uncomfortable, very much so, out of my comfort zone. I’m dealing with a lot of personal stuff. I get insecure and I get overwhelmed and I get affected deeply by the things these families are going through.”
Losing It With Jillian launch on Tuesday nights at 8pm EST on NBC.
